Boulder Startup Week is a very special time for us. We’ve participated both in 2014 and 2015, and this year will be no different. Not only do we get a chance to give back to the community, but we have the opportunity to open our doors, show off our office space and talk to others in the startup scene. We can get wrapped up in making on-call suck less so it’s nice to share the love we have for this town & for our startup siblings.
We’ll be taking part in a number of ways…
[The Startup Crawl, from 5pm-7pm] This is a big open house and all of BSW is welcome. We’ll have beers, some nosh and shuffleboard. In addition to our awesome office space and the smiling faces of VO employees, there is rumor of limited access to super-sweet t-shirts and stickers for those attendees nice enough to ask. Get here early though…that swag won’t last.
[Mentor Community Office Hours, from 9am-11am] Our CEO, Todd Vernon, loves sharing his startup knowledge and passion. Interested parties can sign up for a slot to ask any questions and get advice from those who have had many years of experience playing the startup game.
[The Content Ceiling: How to Get Attention in an Overflowing World of Content Marketing, from 11am-12pm] I’ll be on a panel talking about the challenges involved with content marketing in a saturated field. There will be other tech marketers joining me to share their stories of what has worked for them.
[ChatOps: The Rise of the Bots, from 4pm-5pm] This panel features our very own Jason Hand, talking about infrastructure as conversation, as well as folks from init.ai, Rackspace and Occipital.
[Ignite Boulder, from 6pm-9pm] This is one of the best events that Boulder has to offer. There are a variety of speakers, all with 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds, equaling 5 minutes of awesomeness. We’re not doing anything official with this one, just big fans. Come to learn, stay for the entertainment!
[Office Chair Race, from 3:30pm-5:30pm] We were the champions of last year’s race (see pic above) and we’re coming back to defend our title this year. With Samantha in the captain’s position, we’re expecting another easy victory this year. No pressure Sam!
Whether you’re looking for a job or just to network with folks in different business verticals around town, BSW is the perfect place. Over the course of the week you can join quite a few different happy hours, listen to experts talk about their subject matters and hike/bike/yogi it up with Boulder’s best & brightest.
We hope to see you at some of the events!
