It was time to update our mobile apps in a big way. Call it spring cleaning, call it an updated look for a new year…we’re calling it a much-needed refresh.

We touched on the changes to the Android UI in our last Release Notes blog post, but iOS users, have no fear. You have not been forgotten. Get ready to feast your eyes on the gorgeousness of our retooled mobile app.

But don’t take our word for it…

“So easy to use and seriously makes my on-call life easier.”

The iOS app is a great tool for acknowledging alerts.”

“I was smitten from the start but this app just keeps getting better.”

Enough praise and patting ourselves on the mobile app. Here’s a few of the exciting things waiting for your in your new iOS app:

 — New in-app organization by team (a little something we’re calling the Rolodex) allowing users to quickly search through large organizations to coordinate with specific users to assist in incident remediation.

rolodex

 — Enhanced keyboard with condensed search functionality for easier chatting, @, @@ mentions and hashtags. We’re making typing in the mobile app suck less, too.

 — Improved visibility of setting options. Now it’s dead simple to see what org you’re a part of and access push notification sounds, which means that changing that push notification sound is even more straightforward.

 — Fixes for ‘quick filters’ allow for better filtering of your timeline, providing a better view of the alerts that are important to you and your team.

personal-summary

 — Improved personal summary view that allows users to see when they are next on-call, any missed messages and other items that are pertinent to them. Consider it a personal window into your own part of the on-call rotation.

I’m super excited about this release as it’s only the first step of many more improvements coming in the app. There’s still work to be done but I’d love to hear what users think and welcome any feedback that they have to better improve the iOS experience.” – Tracee, our iOS developer

And if you’re not using our mobile app, feel free to download it from the App Store at your earliest convenience. Not only will it make remote collaboration much easier, it will also help to make on-call suck less.
