Taking the Stage at Scale14x 2016

Tara Calihman - January 21, 2016

We couldn’t be more excited about our trip to California this week. And it’s not just for the sunshine and warmer temperatures…although those will be appreciated also. No, we’re headed to SCaLE14x, a conference in our sweet spot.

We attended last year but are stepping it up this year. In addition to our presence as an exhibitor (booth #616, yo!), we’ll also be dropping mad knowledge in the Developer track. Not one, but two of our awesome devs will be giving talks this Saturday, Jan. 23rd.

Check out Dan Hopkins, our Director of Engineering, as he rocks the crowd with comparisons between stateless and stateful architectures. You don’t want to miss this one.

And later that same day, our own VP of Fungineering, Nick Isaacs, will be taking a deeper dive into the challenges of using Akka in stateful projects and what our organization has figured out through trial & error. I’ve seen a preview of this talk and guarantee you will learn something.

You should probably go just to see if Nick actually wears his horse head during the presentation. Bring a carrot, in case.

But we’re not done. Jason Hand, our DevOps evangelist, will be participating in the Network and Server Monitoring discussion happening on Saturday Jan 23, at 7pm in room 103. Take part in an open conversation about what others are doing and hear best practices as they relate to monitoring.

If you’re going to be at the conference, please come say hello. We’ll be giving demos at our booth, along with ChatOps books. And have no fear - we’re stocked with the sweetest startup shirts around. See how we’re making on-call suck less and let us help you to be victorious.
